Install Airwallex Afterpay Payments App

Accept Afterpay payments globally while eliminating unnecessary FX fees

Installation and Configuration

Ensure you have Afterpay activated

Please ensure that you have Afterpay activated on your Airwallex account that you have linked to your Shopline app before allowing your shoppers to checkout

Pre-requisites

  1. You must have a valid and activated Airwallex account
  2. Afterpay must be enabled and activated as a payment method in Airwallex (Please ensure you do this before proceeding)

Installation Steps

  1. Go to your Shopline admin page and click "Set up payment methods" from the "Set up Payments" in the hero banner or click Settings > Payments

  1. Click Add other payment methods and select Airwallex Afterpay Payments

  1. You should now see the following screen. Click Install

  1. Click Manage Account. You will now be asked to login to your Airwallex account. Login with the account that you have activated payments for and wish to link. (Please ensure you select the right account after logging in)

  1. Within the settings page, select the relevant logo you wish to display your shoppers on checkout. Afterpay will be relevant to shoppers in Canada, United States, Australia and New Zealand while Clearpay will be relevant to shoppers in the United Kingdom

  2. Click Activate to activate the application

  3. To help more of your shoppers check out with Afterpay, ensure you have currency switching turned on. You can enable this from Airwallex > Payments > Settings

  1. Your store is now ready to accept payments!

Shopper Experience

Overview

With Afterpay, the shopper can choose to:

  1. Pay in 4
  2. Pay in Monthly Instalments

Experience Walk-through

When a customer visits your online store, they will be able to see a row under Payment in the checkout page named Afterpay

Possible Scenarios

There are three possible scenarios that a shopper can experience when using Afterpay on your store

Scenario 1

Scenario: Shopper is shopping in a store with eligible store currency. Shopper Experience:

Shoppers will be brought to Afterpay directly where they can select their preferred way to pay before order confirmation. A sample flow is shown below

Shopper Experience:

Shoppers will be brought to a page where they will be shown the currency they will pay in and the rate that was used for conversion. This is to provide transparency to the shopper

Scenario: Shopper is shopping in a store with ineligible store currency and ineglible billing country. For the eligible countries and currencies please refer to our Afterpay Docs

Shopper Experience:

Shoppers will be brought to a page where they will be shown the options to select their Afterpay country account. This is to ensure we will switch to the correct currency for the transaction to reduce merchant cross-border fees
