Your guide to Yield: Airwallex's high-rate business saver
There are very few things in business that feel effortless. Developing your product and service, chatting with your customers, supporting your team… It’s fulfilling work, but it’s hard work. But growing your business's funds? With Airwallex Yield, it couldn’t be easier.
What is Airwallex Yield?
Airwallex Yield is our next-generation business savings tool, and the latest feature in our transformative Business Account. It’s the first tool of its kind on the market, and is set to change the game when it comes to helping your business grow.
Is your capital working as hard as you are?
What makes Airwallex Yield unique?
There are lots of reasons why Airwallex Yield is unique compared to other options on the market. Let’s start with our favourite, it’s multi-currency capabilities.
Enjoy USD and AUD Returns
Other popular business savers in Australia only offer returns in our local currency. But does this really work for modern businesses with global ambitions? With Airwallex Yield, you have the opportunity to generate returns on your USD balances with the same ease as you would with AUD, all without the hassle of setting up foreign accounts. No more jumping through hoops or dealing with complicated international banking. It's time to make your money work for you, in AUD and beyond.
Competitive rates and returns
The Airwallex team is always shooting to get you a killer rate on your funds. Right now, we’re offering a sizzling daily return of 3.68% on AUD and 3.68% USD balances respectively*. To put that into perspective, traditional rates are hovering around a mere 1.06% p.a. for AUD and a measly 0.50% p.a. for USD.

Flexibility for your business needs
Many business savers come in the form of term deposits, or issue penalties if businesses need fast access to cash. But having funds under lock-and-key is just not a realistic option for most businesses.
Unlike traditional term deposits, you’re in the driver's seat here. Move money around as needed, without any pesky lock-up periods or penalties. Funds generally settle from your Yield account to your cash balances in 1-2 business days (with the exception of distribution periods or any exceptional circumstances).
Integrate for Xero-friction reconciliation
We know that so many of our users gain value from our Xero integration, so having Yield follow the same path was a no-brainer. Real-time syncing of balances and returns speeds up reconciliation, reduces errors, and enhances financial visibility. This seamless integration centralises your data, saving time and improving accuracy - adding zero complications to your financial workflows.
How does Airwallex Yield work?
Yield is different to the traditional high-rate business saver because it is an investment product.
Instead of sitting in an account, your balances are invested in JP Morgan Liquidity Funds — AAA-rated money-market funds. These funds boast high liquidity and a strategy focused on short-term, highly-rated securities. Say goodbye to old-school savings and hello to a secure and innovative way to grow your funds.
Looking for more info on what a money-market fund is? A money market fund is a fund that invests in a range of diversified and low-risk assets.
Money market funds usually have cash and similar investments that are short-term and have high ratings. These include certificates of deposit, US Treasury bonds, and commercial paper. The JP Morgan money market funds we invest in hold assets issued by major global banks like Bank of America and Bank of Japan. Returns on money market funds typically track closely to interest rates set by the reserve banks of those currencies.
cogsflow unlocks growth potential with Airwallex Yield
cogsflow is an Aussie startup success story on a mission to empower eCommerce merchants. A tech platform which helps users effectively manage risk and cash flow, cogsflow helps businesses keep up their momentum by removing barriers to growth.
“The nature of our business is that we have some swings with cash,” says David. “Money is tight and every dollar counts for us and our clients. We expect our money to work as hard as we are, and the Airwallex Yield product helps us achieve that. Yield puts our money to work.”
Prior to Yield, cogsflow was using an existing solution to generate returns, but it wasn’t meeting their expectations.
“We had an existing solution from CBA… I don't want to throw big yellow under the bus, but Airwallex is so much better… They have an applicable interest rate of .25% or .5%, while Airwallex is in the mid to high 3% – it’s kind of a no-brainer."
“It absolutely dominates the CBA solution that we had,” continues David. “I think we've earned more with Yield in a week than we did with CBA in a month..."
